The short version: Speedometer One collects nothing. No data, no tracking, no accounts.
Speedometer One is built by Sypnapse LLC, a small software studio based in Washington State. This app does not collect, store, or sell any personal data, and never sends any to us.
The app uses your device's GPS to calculate your current speed. That calculation happens entirely on your device. Your location is never recorded, and it is never shared with us. The app uses your location in the background only while its Lock Screen Live Activity is running.
One exception: with the Speedometer One Pro map background turned on and an internet connection, the app asks Apple’s location services for the name of the nearest town or city, to show it on screen (for example, “near Portland”). Apple handles that request under its own privacy policy. The app keeps only the current place name. The map itself uses map data built into the app and makes no network requests.
We collect no data from users of any age. COPPA, GDPR, and equivalent children's privacy laws do not apply as no data is collected or processed.
There are no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in this app. No data is shared with any third party.
When you download this app, Apple may collect certain information through the App Store. That data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by ours.
