Privacy Policy

Overview

Travel One (coming soon to the App Store as Travel: Home & Away) is made by Sypnapse LLC, a small software studio based in Washington State. Sypnapse does not collect, store, receive, or sell any personal data from the app. We run no servers for it.

Data on your device

Your saved cities, your Home city, tile layout, and cached weather and exchange rates are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's storage and a shared App Group container so the widgets can read them. Deleting the app removes them.

Location

Location is optional. If you allow “While Using the App” access, the app uses your approximate location to show the city you're in as “My Location”. The app requests reduced (approximate) accuracy by default.

Your location is used only on your device and with Apple's services: Apple MapKit to work out which city you're in, and Apple WeatherKit to fetch that city's weather. It is never sent to Sypnapse or to the exchange-rate provider. You can turn location off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services, and add cities manually instead.

Services the app uses

Apple WeatherKit

Weather is provided by Apple Weather. To fetch it, the app sends the coordinates of the cities you've added to Apple. See Apple Weather data sources and Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apple MapKit

When you search for a city, what you type is sent to Apple's MapKit search to suggest matching places. MapKit is also used to name the city at your location, if you allow location access.

Frankfurter (exchange rates)

Currency rates come from the free, open-source Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.dev). Requests contain only currency codes (for example USD and EUR) and, for rate history, a start date. No location, identifiers, or personal data are sent. As with any web request, the provider can see your IP address.

No tracking

There are no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs in the app, and it does not track you across apps or websites. The app's privacy manifest declares no collected data and no tracking.

Children

We collect no data from users of any age, including children.

Apple

When you download the app, Apple may collect information through the App Store. That data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll post the updated version here with a new effective date before our practices change.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Washington State, United States.
